Here is a provocative article about the François Girard production of Parsifal.  This production is a joint production with the Opéra National de Lyon and the Canadian Opera Company.

THIS PRODUCTION OF PARSIFAL WILL BE MOUNTED IN TORONTO IN THE NEXT COUPLE OF YEARS!

The COC is a partner in this production along with the Opéra National de Lyon in France and the Met in New York.  Financial constraints have prevented showing it earlier but a fund raising campaign is currently being planned to raise the necessary funds. Opera fans will remember that Canadian director François Girard directed the highly successful production of Siegfried, part of the COC Ring production. His  production of Parsifal has garnered huge praise from reviewers and the public in New York and Lyon and it is expected to be the cornerstone of the season.
